Thoughts to Ponder
A person who never made a mistake, never tried anything new.
--Albert Einstein
Aging is a mental process. It has nothing to do with the earth’s
revolutions around the sun. The quality of your thought determines
the quality of the aging process. Where does your thinking dwell?
* Fear, Anger, Hate, Revenge, Greed lead to rapid aging
* Compassion, Patience, Love, Forgiveness, Joy, Honesty Leading
to a Joyful, Rewarding, Growing Maturity
The choice is yours! Refuse to let other people’s actions
steal your peace of mind.
-- George Kropp
from Sue G.
The way I see it, living your DASH is about two things; being and
doing. How are you going to ‘be’ as a human being? And,
what are you going to ‘do’ to contribute?
-- Eric J. Aronson

Iodine Therapy
Thyroid care has caused all kinds of problems over the years. Tens
of thousands of thyroid glands have been unnecessarily surgically
removed and medically poisoned or burned. Treatment today remains
the same, with destruction of an over-active gland and thyroid hormone
drugs for the under-active.
Yet not too long ago iodine was a useful treatment for physicians.
Find out more about this treatment and why it fell out of favor,
and why it might make a comeback.

The
O-Zone : Your incredible brain
The brain is the first organ to form within us as an embryo. It
then extends into a spinal cord and then into peripheral nerves
that wrap around the body. Then the other organs like the heart,
kidneys, and lungs form. The nerve system has billions of miles
of networks it develops. Was that billions of miles? Yes, billions.
The brain actually reshapes itself to hold new information. It acts
like a muscle. Use it and it grows, abuse it and it shrinks. Don’t
use it and it shrivels. How do we use it? Think, read, and exercise
the brain. Do crossword puzzles, solve problems, riddles, write,
develop new talents, play a new musical instrument, learn a new
language, dream, stay active, exercise, change your daily routine,
and keep a positive attitude. Emotional extremes are not healthy.
Anger and rage actually kill brain cells. Prolonged stress also
kills brain cells. Good nutrition is vital for balanced and vibrant
brain function. It can actually enhance brain function. This works
by stimulating the production of neurotransmitters, improving blood
flow to the brain, and restoring brain cell metabolism to more youthful
levels.
B Vitamins play a critical role in brain function, especially B12,
B6, B1, and B3. Thiamine, Niacin and B12 are necessary to optimal
performance. Sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium are the key
mineral ions in the brain and must be maintained in critical balance.
Calcium increases your ability to concentrate. Omega 3 fatty acids
are pivotal to cell production and brain health. Antioxidants like
Vitamin C, E, and beta-carotene also play an important role in brain
nutrition. They help battle damage caused by free radicals that
may lead to cloudy thought and confusion. Iron transports oxygen
in red blood cells including those to your brain. Iron-poor blood
is linked to a short attention span and mental sluggishness. Choline
regulates memory and mental sharpness. Folic acid helps maintain
levels of memory-boosting choline. Linolenic is a super-unsaturated
fatty acid (like Omega 3s) that helps brain cells forge new connections,
which are useful for complex thought processes.
We recommend our Greens First, Omega-3, and Cod Liver Oil for complete
brain nutrition. These three supplements together provide a great
jumpstart toward optimal brain nutrition. See our web page for complete
information on their benefits. Also avoid mercury and aluminum in
vaccines, poor quality fish, aluminum cooking pans and antiperspirants.
The extraordinary value in Chiropractic is that it frees up the
brain to be more efficient and effective in guiding physical response
to life circumstance. If you have any nerve pressure in the spine,
only an adjustment will free you to live your highest potential.
How do you want to experience life?

Aspirin for Heart Attacks
The practice of using aspirin for people with cardiac arrhythmias,
artificial heart valves, high blood pressure, clogged arteries,
and just about anyone who has had a heart attack has really caught
on. Today 26 million Americans are taking a daily aspirin!
The practice itself has been debunked in Europe, as reported in
medical journals there, yet it continues hear as a routine practice.
It’s a life long drug debility for unsuspecting patients.
Aspirin has a dangerous side effect of internal bleeding. There
are some natural products that will help reduce platelet aggregation,
the main reason for prescribing aspirin. These products are cod
liver oil and whole phytonutrient vitamins B and E. They work like
a low dose aspirin without the risk.
* Aspirin does not prevent 50% of heart attacks and strokes. In
fact, aspirin is a prime cause of strokes by inducing bleeding in
the brain.
* Aspirin can often conceal rather than actually prevent vascular
(heart and blood vessel) events. Because aspirin is a pain-killer,
it is estimated that lots of cases of chest pains associated with
small vascular events and heart attacks may be missed. And since
aspirin induces indigestion and abdominal discomfort, it is estimated
that many small heart attacks and chest pain syndromes are misdiagnosed
as abdominal problems in aspirin takers.
* In every long term study, aspirin increased the risk of sudden
death following a heart attack. The increase was anywhere from 2-5.6%
* What about all the non-vascular problems? Estimates are that low
dose aspirin as heart attack prevention therapy may account for
more than 30% of all major gastrointestinal bleeding and hemorrhage
in patients over age 65.
If you are one of the Americans taking a daily aspirin, consider
these facts. If you are using it to protect your heart, there are
safer alternatives. To learn more about Cod Liver oil and phytonutrients

Iodine
Therapy
Thyroid care has caused all kinds of problems over the years. Tens
of thousands of thyroid glands have been unnecessarily surgically
removed and medically poisoned or burned. Doctors stay locked into
laboratory tests to evaluate thyroid glands—a practice that
just doesn’t work. Treatment today remains the same, with
destruction of an over-active gland and thyroid hormone drugs for
the under-active.
Yet not too long ago iodine was a useful treatment for physicians.
Patients with thyroid problems, asthma, chronic bronchitis, and
emphysema were given huge amounts of iodine in doses from 100-1,000
mgs daily for several years. This huge dose was brought down to
around 5-10 mgs/day with excellent results and normalization of
mild hyperthyroidism. This dose, considered huge and dangerous by
most medical experts, was effective and produced no side effects.
Today, physicians warn those with hyperthyroidism to actually avoid
iodine. This despite the fact that iodine as a supplement or medicine
actually normalizes overactive thyroid glands. And little to no
research has been done regarding iodine therapy. Therefore, there
are only estimates and old research about the correct levels of
iodine. In the 1940s one man’s theory about iodine ended the
normal use of it, and little thought has been given to it since.
Iodine is critical when it comes to a healthy thyroid. And because
of the thyroid’s role in the female reproductive system, it
is also key in the prevention of cancers of this system. Outdated
medical theory rules over iodine therapy, saying iodine causes hypothyroidism.
In the real world, mainland Japanese have consumed more than 100
times the FDA of iodine for centuries. And they have one of the
lowest incidences of hypothyroidism in the world, which flies in
the face of past theories. Organic iodine can be found in Celtic
sea salt, the best form of salt for your diet.
