Zone: Value of a Blood Test
We
seem to hold sacred the results of a blood test, urine test, or
other medical procedure. We calculate averages
with the assumption that average is good. We assume that if a person
falls in the average, they must be average and their blood test
must also be average. Average doesn't equal good or right. To find
out why read on.
Something’s
Fishy with the Fish
Nutritionist and diet experts seem to be recommending
a lot of fish in the diet. This is not the wisest option for receiving
the benefits of fish due to the toxicity from our polluted waters.
Find out what's wrong with the fish you eat,
how to choose better fish, and how to choose the best option for
the beneficial Omega 3 fatty acids.

Baby
Talk
Up to three months before a woman gets pregnant, diet, prescription
drugs, alcohol, and toxins can affect the construction of her eggs.
Nutrition and environment are important even before conception.
Most people don’t think back, “What was I doing three
months ago,” so it is important to live a healthy lifestyle
all the time, to provide a future baby with the best foundation.
The beginning of your child’s health precedes conception.
Good choices lead to great outcomes.

Health Myths
Myth
1: Sun Causes Skin Cancer
Sun is actually very vital to our health. This myth has contributed
to disease and persists among Americans. The truth is that the appropriate
sun exposure prevents cancer. Your body needs sun to help form Vitamin
D. There is now evidence that sunlight is protective against MS
and colon, ovarian, and breast cancers. Following the recommendations
of avoiding the sun has caused a minimum of 20,000 extra cancers
per year, and it is far more likely the number actually exceeds
50,000.
This does not mea that you should go out and spend all day in the
sun. Sun exposure should be gained in increments. Build up gradually
so you can get normal sun exposure without burning. You should start
out slow. Do Not get BURNED. Burning does cause damage to your skin,
and can lead to skin cancer. There is a difference between enjoying
and benefiting from the sun and being burned.
Sunscreen is not a good way to block the sun. It doesn’t prevent
cancer, in fact, most sunscreens have chemicals that are toxic and
can prove harmful you. (Arbonne does make an excellent toxic free
sunblock). Another method of protection is to use clothing creatively
to block the sun during your build up time.
Sunscreens with a sun protection factor of 8 or greater will block
UV rays that produce vitamin D, but it is still important to not
get burned by the sun. Use short periods of time for exposure. It
is especially important for individuals with limited sun exposure
to include good sources of vitamin D in their diet such as Cod Liver
oil. You can read more about Cod Liver Oil on our website on the
products page. Healthy skin care
products are a step toward preventing some cancers. 90% of skin
care products contain cancer-causing toxic ingredients like petroleum
and mineral oil ingredients. These are known carcinogens that most
cosmetics companies still include in their products. Skin care products
may actually be responsible for more cancer than tobacco.
So get more sun, but be responsible: don’t get burned. Take
Cod Liver or Fish Oil if you can’t get the amount of sun necessary
and you’ll meet your vitamin D needs.

“O” Zone: Value of a Blood
Test
We seem to hold sacred the results of a blood test, urine test,
or other medical procedure. We calculate averages with the assumption
that average is good. We assume that if a person falls in the average,
they must be average and their blood test must also be average.
What if that person is exceptional? If the result is not average,
we force the body to comply with our belief of what should be. We
assume that the result is the result of a pathological change instead
of a powerful healthy urge in the body to seek a healing environment
in some unusual way. We assume we must intervene to correct the
ideal lab value. But the reality is we do not know why the body
has chosen that path. We do not know why the body has elected to
settle on the chemical balance it has elected. What are the effects
of our powerful and swift manipulation of the blood chemistries?
Here are some numbers to consider. Three times in recent years the
medical community has gone on strike. All three times the death
rate dropped from 20 – 50%. A new report out of Australia
has demonstrated a strong correlation to the number of physicians
and the death rate. The more doctors the higher the death rate.
Why would this happen unless we were over-treating or mistreating
patients, or we are treating conditions and not patients.
We have learned with the PSA test, which we thought was an accurate
predictor of prostate cancer, that it is not a reliable predictor.
Why not? PSA is an indicator of the body’s reaction to some
pathogen. It is not an indicator of the severity of the cancer,
only of the body’s response to it. If the body does not react
strongly to a tumor growth, the PSA will be low, and appear okay.
If it is a small but insignificant tumor and the body aggressively
attacks it, the results could look bad, when in reality the body
is responding appropriately to a dangerous situation and may handle
it all by itself.
Any medical test should be validated by life experience and the
patients’ intuitive understanding of their own body. One study
found that over 50% of medical diagnosis was found to be incorrect
on autopsy. 50% is a very high number. So half of the time the condition
being treated didn’t exist in that patient, but the side effects
of the care still plagued the patient.
Learn to know your own body, listen to its subtle messages. Take
care of it properly. If medical care is needed you will know it.
Access it, but keep control of the decisions and actions taken.
You are the boss. It is your body, your health; you have the ability,
need, and responsibility to manage your own care.
Care for your health, not just your diseases or conditions. Create
a plan, have action steps for each of the five areas of health:
Spiritual, Emotional, Structural, Nutritional, and Energetic.

Something’s
Fishy with the Fish
Though fish is a good source of Omega 3 fatty acids you need to
choose the safest kinds and weigh the risks. Mercury exposure is
a big concern for many people, including the FDA and the Environmental
Working Group. The FDA’s standards are lower than the EWG
supports. There are no safe levels of mercury for anyone. Women
and children appear to be especially at risk for mercury complications,
though. Jane Houlihan of the EWG says the FDA warnings aren’t
enough. “If a woman ate canned tuna using the current guidelines,
she’d almost certainly exceed the level of mercury that could
put a baby in the womb at potential risk for brain damage.”
Following is a list of the top good fish and the top bad fish available.
Consider the fish you eat. Omega 3 fatty acids are essential to
good health. They fight depression, heart disease, joint problems,
and they support good digestion and the thyroid gland. Choose a
high quality fish and Cod Liver Oil to meet your requirements to
prevent mercury toxicity. A high quality oil is essential because
mercury from the fish is likely present in poor quality supplements.
We offer a high quality Cod Liver oil here if you wish to try the
benefits.
