You're a bunch of chickens...or my "O"zones aren't
interesting or controversial enough to get you to read
them (probably the latter). I promised to go deeper
into the last letter I wrote, but if it wasn't interesting
enough to elicit response, I will go a different
direction...
Simple solutions to important problems. I love simple solutions that get to the core of the issue, are easy and powerfully effective. How about you? Does that appeal to you also? One of my favorite remedies is Neptune Krill Oil. How much would you give to improve in these areas:
- Heart health Research indicates that 100% Pure Neptune Krill Oil will help with all of these areas of health. In my opinion, it is currently the best source of Omega 3 fats, which include the vitally important EPA and DHA fats (provided you purchase high quality 100% Pure Neptune Krill Oil). Krill Oil also is a great source of antioxidants, a critical link in the fight against the many toxins and poisons we have in our society. For about $30 a month, you can strike a blow against all of these problems. The best part is that it doesn't have any side effects, you don't burp it all day like fish oils, and it is easy to take. What more could you want from a nutritional supplement? As far as I know, this is the best single supplement for your health. I have been taking it for over two years now, every day. I like to take two capsules a day, even though the bottle recommends one, it just feels better to me. Take my advice, start on the Krill Oil today, and stay on it for the rest of your life, it just may be the single easiest thing you do to preserve your health long into your "easy years." -Dr. O |

The smell of September is in the air! For us
here at Olson Chiropractic, September smells
more like fresh baked bread from Subway or a
classic personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. In
fact, I think every month has smelled that
way...
Recently, Dr. Olson returned from the mountains of Wyoming. As we gathered around his desk to see pictures and hear the stories, he explained that he thought long and hard about what gifts he could bring to us. He then pulled out his jacket from the trip. We each had a chance to experience the mountains ourselves by getting a nice whiff of his jacket. It smelled like a campfire, and it was amazing! Dr. O soon engorged himself in the jacket and relished the aroma. Even as he shared his jacket with us, he never did relinquish the death grip he had on it. That was OK though, because he had already given me the wonderful gift. The scent immediately brought me back to the many camping trips I had experienced in my life, with such vivid memories, it was as if they happened yesterday. The sense of smell is indeed amazing. It is astonishing to think of how a smell can trigger so many thoughts. How therapeutic this can be! I recently came across an article that showed the benefits of aromatherapy in reducing occupational stress within the nursing field. Aromatherapy has been used for thousands of years as a way to boost health and wellness. Various scents can enhance certain healing properties. For example, lavender helps to calm you and reduce stress. Peppermint helps with concentration, self-confidence, colds, and flu. Campfire scents help in recalling those childhood memories. The list could go on. In order for you to experience the utmost benefits from aromatherapy, or if you just want to enjoy the numerous fragrances of nature more fully, one should be sure there is no interference within the nervous system. Interference of nerve conduction in the top levels of the spine can cause an array of problems such as a decrease in the sense of smell, sinus issues, headaches, ear aches, ringing in the ears, eye problems, etc. Fortunately, this happens to be our cup of tea here at Olson Chiropractic! Let us help you experience life more fully by being adjusted regularly and keeping your nervous system in peak condition. So, when you come in for your adjustment and you swear you can smell the faint wood-burning aroma, don't worry, it's only Dr. Olson's new campfire scented cologne that I bought him. (whispers) He loves that stuff! Dr. J |

Reflexology and Sinus Help!
Ah, fall is in the air, my favorite time of year. Fall does however; seem to bring colds and sinus troubles with it. Luckily, Reflexology is an effective tool in your Toolbox for Healing to help you enjoy the changing of the leaves, the crisp air and Candy Apples at the supermarket. I've been practicing Reflexology for almost eight years. Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflexes in the hands and feet that correspond to all the glands, organs and parts of the body. In other words, there is a map of your body on the hands and feet. Having a Certified Reflexologist work on these reflexes can relieve stress, tension and improve circulation. Because of these benefits, the body is actually able to heal itself quickly. While I enjoy the relaxation and stress relieving benefits of this modality, it consistently amazes me how it assists in the body's well being. One of the neatest side effects of Reflexology is the clearing of the sinuses. Clients can walk in to my office not being able to breathe at all, with both sides of their head clogged. Within a matter of minutes, by working on the reflexes in the clients' toes, their nose will inevitably start to run and relief comes over their faces. Just by working on the hands and feet, you are able to find relief in your head! Amazing! Not only is it great for you, but it is so relaxing. Dr. Olson thinks it is more relaxing than a massage. Don't wait. Treat yourself to a fabulous Reflexology session, or give a gift certificate for one of the most relaxing times you will ever gift to your loved one of friend, and they get more healthy in the process. -Annie Bathgate, Certified Reflexologist |

Flu Shot Doesn't Reduce Death Risk -According to research published in the September issue of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, the overall benefits of the influenza vaccination have been exaggerated by a number of observational studies. -The belief that the flu shot reduces overall mortality risk in the elderly does not stand up to careful scrutiny, as this study has reported. In fact, the study states that, "Previously reported mortality reductions are clearly inflated and erroneous." -Everyone can reduce their risk of the flu by taking simple precautions. Just wash your hands, and avoid sick children and hospitals during the flu season. |
