Thoughts
to Ponder
We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning
to see an imperfect person perfectly. -Sam Keen, from To Love and
Be Loved
A lesson on communication
A
girl asked a boy if she was pretty. He said no. She asked him if
he wanted to be with her forever. He said no. She then asked him
if he would cry if she walked away. He again said no. She had heard
too much. She needed to leave. As she walked away, he grabbed her
arm and told er to stay, he said, "You're not pretty, your
beautiful. I don't want to be with you forever, I need to be with
you forever. I wouldn't cry if you walked away, I would die."

Do, or do not. There is no 'try'. -Yoda (from The Empire Strikes
Back)
Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't
matter and those who matter don't mind. -Dr. Seuss

How to prevent Asthma and Allergies in children
New research may explain why allergy and asthma rates in children
have risen in dramatic fashion since the late 1970s. Studies suggest
one in eight school-aged children suffers from asthma. Chronic lung
disease is the leading cause of childhood admissions to hospital.
Yes! Its Cold and Flu Season again
There is so much negative hype in the media about cold and flu season
I want to set the record straight. You can stay healthy without
the flu vaccine. The bigger question may be can you stay healthy
if you get the flu vaccine. With the good fortune of the vaccine
shortages this year, people may actually look at how to stay healthy
instead of taking a vaccine to trick the bodies bital immune system
into a hiccup of action at the exposure of a virus or bacteria.
If people practice good health habits they are unliely to get the
flu. If you do get the flu I have a series of marvellous remedies
that will usually have you back up and out in two days or less.
But first let's talk about the critical factors to staying healthy.
1. Get pleanty of sleep. 8 hours is the basis of a healthy rejuvinating
nights sleep. You should get at least 2 hours before midnight. Kids
need more. High Schoolers should have 9, and more in younger kids.
An 8pm bed time for grade shool age kids is a good begining for
a healthy lifestyle.
2. Good nutrition is based on vegetables. The greater the variety
in color the better. The vegetables in season or the ones that store
well are always the core of a good diet. If fast food is a way of
life for you or you eat meat at every meal you need to think of
our wonderful product Greens First. It provides the equivalent of
10-12 servings of fruits and vegetables in just one scoop a day.
It tastes good and it usually increases energy and stamina within
a week. See the link to nutrition for more guidlines on good nutrition.
3. Drink pleanty of clean water. Soda, coffee and tea do not count
as water. You need at least 8 glasses a day. Dehydration will work
in the favor of an virus that tries to grow inside your body. Filtered
or bottled water is also a critcl ingredient. I am currently trying
to find the best system to recommend to my friends as a whole. As
soon as I come up with a great purification system, I will pass
it on.
4. Take health promoting herbs and vitamins to remedy the effects
of the bug. I have studied for the last 20 years finding the best
ways to treat any cold, vlu or virus. I have had an excellent track
record in helping people heal from colds and flu's in short order.
For access to our winter first aid kit click on the link. It will
teach you everything you need to do in case you get caught off guard
by a nasty bug. You don't have to be a victim any more. You can
now be in control of your immune health and not stand in lines all
day to have cows blood, aluminum and mercury injected into your
blood stream to help you deal with the flu.
Use the following as a quick first aid guide for seasonal colds
and flu.
CB: watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing.
HB Itchy eyes, runny or plugged nose, congestion.
First Defense Cold: Good for any cold or flu if you feel chilled.
First Defense Heat: Feverish, cold or flu.
RG: Sore throat, feverish, aches, hard cough.
CK: Cough with clear or white mucus.
Gripp-Heel: Excellent for children with colds and flu symptoms.
These remedies all work best at the earliest onset of symptoms.
If symptoms are complicated call for added guidance.
Heart Disease and CoEnyme Q10
The side effects of Statin Drugs
The negative efects of the Statin drugs so commonly used now to
lower cholesterol are mounting. I personally would not be surprised
to see them follow Vioxx into banishment in three years. From the
first development of the statins they had a major flaw; they destroy
Co Q10, a vital nutrient for heart health and energy production.
One of the early patents on a statin drug was for the drug combined
with Co Q10. The freindly drug companies knew about this tragic
side effect. But they ignored it to the detriment to thousands if
not hundrend of thousands of unsuspecting patients.
It defies reason to take a drug for a problem that is life style
induced. Much less to take a drug that has such common and potentially
deadly side effects. A large percentage of the patients who use
statins get muscle pain, a few of them suffer a deadly terminal
condition. If you are a consumer of the a statin drug to lower your
cholesterol, consider the high cost of using a drug for this condition.
If you decide to continue taking the drug, at least get a good supplement
of Co Q10 to counteract the serious consequences of interupting
the energy production cycle and the vital function of your heart.
O-Zone
by Rand Olson D.C.
I attended a very novel movie the other night titled, "What
the Bleep do we know". It was a documentary/movie combined
that looked at life from the vantage point of Quantum Physics, the
study of sub atomic particles.
The movie looked at the inside of our life; the chemicals and inner
actions in the body based on our thinking and chosen feelings. It
showed the impact thought has on the chemistry of the body. A small
thought can and does have major influence in the quality of your
health. Every thought becomes a chemical cascade in the body. Theat
chemical cascade in return causes reactions within the cells that
match the emotional state. The cellular reaction then becomes generationally
deposited into new tissue to further the bodies ability to stay
in what ever emotional state we choose, good or bad. Our thoughts
really do become our physical reality. Our tissue becomes what our
thoughts dictate. Lincoln once said that our parents are responcsible
for your face up until the age of 40. After that you are responsible
for your own face, with of course your cosmetic company.
Each cell has numerous receptors that act like a trap door for nutrients
as well as these chemicals of emotion. The more we live in a speicific
negative emotional state, the nutriion receptors can transform to
accept the nutirional factors as wel as the negatie emotional chemicals.
When the cell divides, the nutrition receptors are replaced with
receptors for the negative emotional chemicals. Not only is it much
more difficult to be emotionally helthy then, but you cannot even
absorb proper nutrient when you eat it.
The movie was very interesting. The effects of each thought and
action is palpable in our life. Every intention finds home in the
tissue of your body. To change your health, change your thoughts.
To change our thoughts, change your spiritual perspective to a higher
reality. Healing is so amazing. Take care of your body, mind and
spirit and life takes on the feel of the wonder of the Aurora Bourealis.
Breaking News
Breast cancer linked to growth patterns
"A recent Danish study of more than 117,000 women confirm that
height is a risk factor for breast cancer and show that it is growth
in childhood that has the greatest influence." Well now isn't
that an exciting bit of news. If your short, your cheering. If your
not, your scared to death by thhis nice bit of news that has no
remedy, or does it.
They found that the timing of the growth spurt determined the level
of risk. "The findings show that those whose peak year of growth
occurred between the ages of 13 and 14 had a 16 per cent lower risk
of breast cancer than those whose peak growth occurred earlier,
between 10 and 11. Girls who were tallest by the age of 14 had the
highest risk." Now why would that be? I think they will eventually
find that it is the emotional stress a girl goes through by being
far taller than other kids her age. That is an emotionally charged
time anyway. Then as a girl to ahve to stand a head taller than
everyone else must create some heavy neuroemtional chemistry fluctuations.
See the previous article for the effects f such and event.
Also of importance is the observation that "Recent findings
have confirmed that milk consumption does increase the circulating
levels of insulin-like growth factor 1 and is associated with higher
stature. The task of understanding how these and other factors are
related to childhood growth and to the risk of breast cancer will
not be an easy task but it is one that deserves serious attention"
I encourge very concervative milk concumption by children and work
very hard to help the children feel comfortable with themselves
no matter what their height. Obesity at puberty was a protective
factor for breast cancer, but it is an increased risk factor for
other unhealthy conditions. A healthy self image never resulted
in any negative physical consequences.
These types of findings, although interesting, are very troublesome.
You can't change your growth pattern, so what are you to do other
than huddle in the corner and wait in fear for this horrible thing
to appear like a halloween goblin. But we can always work on our
self esteem and image. Love your children as they are and they will
begin to love themselves as they are. Don't give energy to things
you can't change, but do engage in things you can control, like
self awarenss and self honesty. These topics are covered at leangth
in my upcoming book.
As the world turns, windows close and doors open
by Dr. O Isn't growth exciting!
We want to say good by to Gina. When she told us of her great opportuntiy
to take a job teaching English to High School students, we were
so excited for her. It meant she would have to start her new job
immediately, which would leave us short handed. But, this has been
her dream and hope for years. She has brought so much good to our
office and patients, we have been blessed by Gina being with us.
Now that she has "passed on" to a new job we want her
to know we love her and are so excited for her new opportunity.
Thanks Gina for all you have shared and given in this part of your
life.
As the world works, I went home that night and mentioned Gina's
opportunity to Laura and she paused and said, "Someone mentioned
to me the other day they would like to work in a chiropractors office.
She is really sharp too." Well without running an add we have
now filled our opening with an exciting new person you are going
to love. Jamie is a personal trainer, health enthusiast, and a caring,
kind person. She will bring her own talents and skills to your healing
experience. Give her a big welcome when you see her. She will give
good things back, I know. (She also loves mountains so she must
be really incredible.)
No matter waht twist or turn lifes path takes, hold on and enjoy.
It may seem painful at the time, but just around the next bend the
blessing will make itself known, if you are open
to see it.
