Thoughts to Change Your Life
The way you think, the way you behave, the way you eat, can influence
your life by 30 to 50 years. Deepak Chopra
It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly
sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are
like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just
an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad. C. S. Lewis
Unless you walk out into the unknown, the odds of making a profound
difference in your life are pretty low. Tom Peters

Parental rights are threatened
Your right to care for your children is being challenged and you
don't even know about it...yet.
At issue is the fundamental right of parents to decide what medical
treatment is appropriate for their children. Under new law being
considered, the federal government would require that every child
undergo psychological screening and receive recommended treatment,
including drug therapies. Are you willing to forgo your parental
right to choose what you think best for your children. If this law
passes it opens an avenue for the government to step into your home
and make critical decisions that will affect your most personal
choices.
Next week the Senate re-convenes to consider appropriations for
a bill that includes funding for grants to implement mandatory universal
mental health screening for almost 60 million children, pregnant
women, and adults through schools and pre-schools. The notion of
federal bureaucrats ordering potentially millions of youngsters
to take psychotropic drugs like Ritalin strikes an emotional chord
with American parents, who are sick of relinquishing more and more
parental control to government. Once in place throughout the country,
the screening program will become mandatory.
Healing is a gift from the body to the spirit.
The body heals when the spirit begins to see its own highest reality.
Healing is a gift from the body to the spirit. The body heals when
the spirit begins to see its own highest reality. The power of illness
is the power of perspective. Through illness we can see the world
and our place in it as it really is. Through illness we can start
to act out of our authentic self. One patient confided in me that
for years she had prayed to God to help her find a way to stop working.
She got cancer and had to stop working.
Did God play that ghastly prank on her, or did she create an answer
to her own mis-prayer? What is a mis-prayer? A mis-prayer is when
we ask for something and create something we did not intend because
of our narrow and self- centered focus. Examples are: God, please
give me patience. God, If only I can win the lottery. God, I want
a different job.
We are irrevocably creative beings. God has given us the power to
procreate and the power of moral agency, or in other words, the
power of choice. Inherent in choice is that predictable consequence
applies. The nature of consequence is inherent in the reality of
creation. If we can act with consequence, then we can create. What
are the limits of creation? So far we haven't discovered the outer
limits of our ability to create.
The challenge with creativity is to manage the creative ability
not only to get what you want but to learn you are really creating
what you are getting. To be able to ask and receive what you want
takes some serious practice, work and mindfulness. The amazing part
about this idea is that it applies to our interaction with other
people as well. When you become a good asker of God, you also improve
your ability to communicate and create with other people.
The principles of creation are: - Win-win - That which we create
can only possess the virtue we put into it. - A deep understanding
of the outcome for all involved - An expansion of moral agency -
Increased humility - Act don't react - Have the outcome in mind
- Intention must be just The creation process begins with Intention,
belief, confidence, view of the possible outcome, work, and persistence.
This process is founded on your purpose, your self-image, your view
of your possibility, and your view of the Creator.
After having Career threatening ACL, PCL, and LCL ligament damage,
Albert Hollis said, It was God's will that it happened," He
said, "It is my will to correct it." You can be creative
in your life and in your healing. Are you willing to engage the
battle? Start today.

Love
Love must be pure to be nurturing
Love brings balance only when it is pure as a mountain spring. If
we insert any agenda into our love, like manipulation or control,
we pollute our kind acts, even if with only a few small drops of
selfishness. The net result is an undesirable beverage for anyone.
Any good act can be polluted and even poisoned by a very small drop
of manipulative intent. The more selfish our intent, the more toxic
the poison of manipulation to our most delicate senses. The more
we inhale the fumes of subtle manipulation we place into our lives,
the more we become addicted to its heady power. The more reliant
we become upon this insidious power the greater the yearning for
more. The results are rife with distrust of ourselves and others
of us.
Discipline is a great thing...
When we apply it to ourselves
When parents discipline themselves, they will seldom need to discipline
their children. If your child is in a pattern of disobedience to
principles contrary to your standard, look at how you too are living
contrary to the standards you know to be good. Applying self-discipline
is far superior to discipline of a child.
The new year is coming. Now is the perfect time to sit down and
plan your goals for the next year. Choose the way you want your
life to be. Decide what you have to be like to have that kind of
life. Those are your goals. Keep your goals and start to discipline
yourself. Your children will see and follow your example.
Nutrition notes
Olive oil: The best of the best
Olive oil is almost unique among oils in that it can be consumed
in the crude form without refining. This has the effect of conserving
all its vitamins, essential fatty acids, and other nutrients. Because
it contains all these nutrients, including powerful antioxidants,
real extra virgin olive oil is beneficial to health and protects
us from damage by free radical oxidation. Cell membranes contain
fatty acids that are highly susceptible to free radical damage.
This damage produces lipid peroxides that can kill the cell. Real
olive oil contains polyphenols, Vitamin E, and other natural antioxidants
that prevent this damage.
Numerous studies show that olive oil reduces cholesterol, lowers
blood pressure, inhibits platelet aggregation, and lowers the incidence
of breast cancer. Because it is so rich in antioxidants, olive oil
appears to dramatically reduce the oxidation of LDL cholesterol,
thereby preventing heart disease. These same antioxidants also add
to the stability, shelf life, and flavor of the oil.
As is typically the case, the more natural our diet, the better
our health. Making the effort to use higher quality Olive Oil, meaning
cold pressed, oil from the olives only, not the leaves and twigs,
Despite the fact that details of a scandal have been published in
Merum, a Swiss-German magazine, and in Italian journals such as
Agra Trade, and the newspaper Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, this information
has been successfully suppressed and is known to only a handful.
Investigators are gathering evidence indicating that the biggest
olive oil brands in Italy, Bertolli, Sasso, and Cirio, have for
years been systematically diluting their extra virgin olive oil
with cheap, highly-refined hazelnut oil imported from Turkey. International
arrest warrants have been issued and so far documents indicate that
at least ten thousand tons of hazelnut oil are involved. As much
as 20% hazelnut oil may be added to olive oil and still be undetectable
to the consumer. In fact olive oil labeled "Italian" often
comes from Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco, Spain, and Greece. Considering
what has happened in Europe, where there are strict regulations,
imagine what can happen in California where there are no regulations.
Apparently, more oil is "produced" in California than
there are olives available. The truth is, most of the extra virgin
olive oil on the market does not supply all the nutritional value
and health giving properties that we have a right to expect from
olive oil. At least the U.S. is not the only country with such scandals.
Bariani's Cold-Pressed, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil 32 oz., $24.00
Bariani's Olive Oil is a milder tasting olive oil. It is light,
delicious and is guaranteed to pretty much please all who try it.
Olio Beato, Organic Olive Oil 25 oz., $20.00 Olio Beato is rich
and sophistated in taste. Some even describe it as being slightly
'peppery' in aftertaste. It is produced in the southern reaches
of Italy in the same fashion for hundreds of years. It is a wonderful
variation to the Bariani Oil used alternatively. They can be found
